OBJECTIVE /
Design a series of three book covers to represent a reissue from a publisher. Each selected title should be different to give individuality to the books—however, they all need to have some grounding elements to tie them together. Each front cover design should reflect the essence of the book, giving the reader a hint of the book.

APPROACH /
I chose to redesign the covers of guidebooks published by Phaidon. The set I chose included three Asian cities: Taipei, Tokyo and Bangkok. Since I am very familiar with these cities, I expressed their characteristics by illustrating the letters of each city name with their famous representative attractions. As background, I used patterns that suited the cities best.
